Amego School

The Amego School is a twelve month program that provides services to children and adolescents within the Autism Spectrum in the following areas:

Skills Building

Academic Skills

The curriculum is developed to meet the educational needs of the individual students, and is based on the Massachusetts Curriculum Frameworks.  The curriculum is functional in nature, covering areas in pre-reading/reading skills, writing skills, math skills, money skills, social skills development, communication and language development.

Vocational Skills

Vocational skills include in-house janitorial and office work. Independence levels are assessed. Applied behavior analysis techniques (positive reinforcement) are used with task analyses to help individuals increase independence and ability to remain on task.

Daily Living Skills

Daily Living Skills include self-care and domestic activities.  These skills are addressed within the residential programs and in the school program (as appropriate).  Independence levels are assessed.  Applied behavior analysis techniques (positive reinforcement) are used with task analyses to increase time on task and level of  independence.
